I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LH 60799075) specializing in Mental Health Counseling for teens, adults, families, and groups.
With over ten years of experience in social services, and as a graduate of Antioch University of Seattle specializing in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I am comfortable working with a broad spectrum of clients. I hold advanced training in the treatment of sexual and gender minorities. Additional areas of expertise are: treating those living with chronic pain or those struggling with a medical condition and a mental health condition simultaneously; services for those who identify as poly or non-monogamous, poly families, and negotiating open relationships with partners; treatment for those who are recovering from childhood trauma including psychological, physical, emotional, spiritual and sexual traumas; and services for those who resonate with non-dominant religious or spiritual practices.
I practice from a trauma informed perspective, and am an attachment-focused therapist that draws from from Humanistic, Jungian, Psychodynamic, Object Relations, Somatic Psychotherapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. My therapeutic approach is relational, collaborative, and individually tailored to help clients effectively address personal challenges and goals. With compassion, understanding, and intuition, I work with each person to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they have been dreaming of.
I am queer identified and understand both the challenges and rewards of deep personal work through mental health therapy. My own experiences in life and as a client allow me to approach my practice with great reverence and dignity. My personality has been described as warm and deeply compassionate; while also, having the ability to be truthfully honest and transparent. I am highly creative and also enjoy utilizing creative modalities both in my personal life and in therapy with my clients.
I received my undergraduate degrees in Psychology, Expressive Arts, and Quantum Mathematics from The Evergreen State College. I received my graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University of Seattle. My training as a sexual minority and gender specialist was gained from my work experience at Seattle Counseling Service; as well as additional trainings throughout Washington, Oregon, and California. I often participate in continuing education courses to remain up-to-date on new treatment options for my clients.
